Berries On a Tree

Does anyone know what kind of tree it is that grows these cute berries? Each fruit is approximately one centimeter in height. They usually grow in clusters. These photos were taken in northern California.

The berries start out pink and then become a darker magenta when they get larger.

  1. Australian brush cherry (Syzygium paniculatum) They are edible, they grow in bushes that if you don’t tame will grow out of control. The taste is sour like a tasteless strawberry but, the ripper it is it becomes slightly sweet. They are very juicy and have a seed single in the middle.
